Tuition.
Yearly: $1035/$1575/$2070 for 30/45/60 minutes.
Monthly (Sept.-May):$115/$175/$230
Tuition is due at the first lesson of the month. A $10 late fee is charged after the 10th. Exceptionally late or repeatedly late payments may result in suspension of lessons.
Attendance and Makeups
Arrive on time to receive your full lesson time before the next student arrives.
If students must miss a lesson, they will need to schedule a makeup lesson that works within my teaching schedule or forfeit that lesson. If I must miss a lesson and a makeup cannot be arranged, I will refund or credit the hourly rate of $54/hour. Similar to school tuition, refunds are not given in any other circumstance.
Virtual lessons can be arranged for cases of extended illness and inclement weather.
Lessons are still held on midweek school holidays. No lessons are held the weeks of Thanksgiving, FCPS winter break, and FCPS spring break. Students with lessons on mid-week school holidays outside of Thanksgiving, winter, and spring breaks have the option to schedule a makeup lesson within the month of the missed lesson.
Lessons are a year long commitment. If a student wishes to quit mid-year, please be considerate and give one month’s notice.
Music/Supplies. Students should bring a dedicated binder or folder to each lesson as well as any music books. Parents will be sent a link where they can purchase music and books. A metronome and recording device are highly recommended.
Performance. Two recital opportunities are provided each year, as well as two Saturday studio classes where students meet to play for each other workshop style. All students are strongly encouraged to participate. Potential dates are listed on the online calendar. Every effort is made to accommodate as many student schedules as possible, but no scheduling guarantees can be made for these events.
